Xavier Ortega is a beast

Xavier Ortega

TE/ RB/ LB

Coach Fred Davis had this to say "Xavier is a force on the field wherever he lines up. His impact has been felt throughout New England all the way to Florida for Nationals for the two time defending AYF New England Champs Springfield Tigers. Xavier is a very versatile player lining up at linebacker on defense tight end/ fullback, wide receiver and running back. Xavier can also kick. Last week versus league rival Hartford Xavier amassed 127yds rushing 1 TD 35 yards receiving 1TD, one interception and defensive score for a total of three touchdowns en route to a 40-0 blowout win. Xavier is a one man wrecking crew and arguable one of the best tight ends in New England. " This player spotlight is brought to you by New England Floor and Wall.

Coach Garrett added "While only being a second year player in CT AYF Xavier has slowly shown why he is one of the most dynamic players in all of New England. His physical style of play can be felt when at RB, and also has some of the best hands you could ask for when lined up at TE. Xavier’s ability to play multiple positions has been a luxury for the Tigers who have been trying to find his best fit. Defensively Xavier can explode off the line of scrimmage when playing at DT disrupting any kind of play call, and can also line up at MLB where he has shown already that he can be a force in stopping the run from the second level, as well as a strong pass coverage linebacker where just last week he had his first career pick 6. The scary part is that he may be just scratching the surface of his potential and will continue to be a playmaker for the Tigers as they continue their run at a third consecutive CT State, & NE Championship, and their first ever National Title."

We will be watching as Xavier and the 12 Tigers continue their dominant run in New England.
