Fairlawn and New Britain advance
The New Britain Jr Canes took down a game Worcester Cowboys team 35 - 19 in Springfield Massachusetts. The Jr Canes will head to Bryant University in Rhode Island to take on the Fairlawn Cardinals who won a shootout with the Nashua Pal Force 39 - 25. Sebastian Lora who many consider the best 13u player in New England had another stellar performance in Nashua, New Hampshire.

The regional championship game at 13u may be the best matchup of regionals this year. Fairlawn are the defending regional champions at this age group (12u champions from last year).

Look out for Dr. TopTen and their prediction blog dropping later this week.

As we move closer to league playoffs and regionals Top 10 New England teams will battle it out for regional supremacy and in some cases for the right to represent their region in Florida and/or in national championship tournaments.

In AYF the Norwich Wildcats and the Fairlawn Cardinals look to battle it out with Worcester refusing to be overlooked. Last year in 12u Fairlawn ran through AYF with no resistance. After an early stumble to Woonsocket, in which several key players were missing due to illness, Fairlawn won the rematch in convincing fashion 27 - 7. These teams will most likely play a third time this year in the playoffs for the right to represent the Blackstone Valley Conference in regionals. The winner of this conference is the favorite to represent New England in our opinion.

On the Pop Warner front look for the Hartford Hurricanes out of Central Connecticut Pop Warner and the Danbury Trojans to compete to represent New England in Division 1 for 13U.
